First Day of Rehab

For Taylor’s first day of rehab she was pushed and pulled all over the hospital. First she went for lab tests and an x-ray, then to speech pathology for swallowing training, then to another speech pathologist to attempt use of the speaking trach. She then went to physical therapy where they tricked out her wheelchair. Afterwards she took a small break, then over to occupational therapy, then finally back to her room where they did and EKG. After that it was close to 5pm and she finally got some rest.

At each stop there were many questions asked and Taylor was answering them all like a champ. Between the two of us I was the tired one. Finally she is being put to bed and is resting up for another full day tomorrow.

  2. Welcome back to the West Taylor! We are so glad you’re closer to home and that you’re now able to communicate so effectively and efficiently! Does your tongue get tired from sticking out a lot? I never thought of that before. We are always thinking of you and how perfectly your recovery is going. Sending much love and light to you and your family.

  4. Hi Taylor,
I go to UUSM and have been hearing about your progress at church services. I want you to know I can relate to having to go to rehab. I had a similar situation to yours but it had to do with a brain hemorrhage that caused me to have a stroke. I had a trach too and had to learn to speak with it after they put the speaking valve in. So, I know all about what you are going through!
YOU CAN DO IT! You have an awesome second chance at life! Keep up the good work! Can’t wait to give you a hug one day!
    Love & Blessings,
    Leslie

  6. How exciting that Taylor and you are in Colorado! The busy schedule suggest that they except a lot of progress from Taylor. I know it come to be.

    thinking of you!
