Snowy Day

There was blowing snow falling today in Colorado.  As such, we could not go outside to enjoy the fresh air, which Taylor likes.  On weekends, there is a lot of free time because no classes are scheduled.  It is a good time to have visitors.  Today, we had visits from Taylor’s Uncle Hung and Kit’s first cousin Pansy and her husband.  It was a good day to be indoors and enjoy a lazy day.  We have also started listening to “The Hunger Games” on audiobook.  Taylor says she has not read the book before and has only seen parts of the movie.  She is enjoying listening to the book immensely.  The intensity and concentration with which she listens to the book is amazing.  She smiles broadly at parts she finds funny.  It is like she is a little kid experiencing something wondrous, and I can tell she is disappointed when it is time to take a break to go the cafeteria to eat, to take a shower, etc.  This is a side of Taylor that I have not seen before.

  1. I think it was my freshman or sophomore year at Beverly Hills High School when I first met Taylor. It was in the science building, where we both had our lockers located right next to each other. I remember having trouble opening my lock, and she realized. I immediately recognized her beautiful smile, and then she offered to help open it for me. She was so warm and eager to help, I will never forget that moment. Although we were not close, it hurts to hear that someone so warm is going through something difficult. I wish her a fast and healthy recovery, and I’m looking forward to hearing about more of her progress.

  2. We talked about catalytic converters in class today. So unnecessary.

  3. Hi Taylor, If you can tear yourself away from the Hunger Games Cassandra’s advice to tune into NPR on Saturday mornings is great, however prior to Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me is my favorite show of the week “Car Talk”. I think you will enjoy it having had such a character vehicle yourself – these guys crack me up.

  4. I am constantly impressed by the way your family writes of your progress. It is a joy for me, and all your other followers, to hear of your perfectness through their eyes. You are blessed to be in such loving, strong, and devoted hands.

P.S. I really like listening to NPR so that on Saturdays I can listen to “Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me”. Then I can see how I fare against the contestants (if you have never listened, it will make you laugh). However, my favorite is “Science Friday” on NPR (there is a podcast or you can get the app). It’s so nerdy good!
