So Much Love

Taylor has so much love. Earlier today, three of the nurses came in and braided her hair in two pony tails on each side of her head. As they did, they talked about braiding and when they last did it with their own hair. The nurses are incredibly compassionate to all their patients but clearly they were doting on Taylor. She continues to receive cards in the mail and notes of support on this site that we read to her. Her dorm mates came by again today and spent time with her hanging out and letting her know how much she is missed. They put her glasses on her and she looked nerd cute. In addition, local friends of her parents came by to say, “hi.” All this activity helps Taylor by filling her room with faces and sounds that are familiar and are very much appreciated. During all of these events, Taylor opened her eyes and took in the events calmly and seemed fascinated by what was happening.

We are searching for a Rehabilitation facility to take on the next stage of
Taylor’s healing. We are looking at programs specifically designed around Taylor’s stage of recovery (Disorders of Consciousness) and are searching nationwide to find the best care possible.

  1. Can’t go through Pi Day without thinking of you and the farmers’ market and all those resulting from-scratch pies.

  3. Dear Taylor,

Warm wishes for happiness and love and comfort come to you from my heart with California spring-like winds. I am a friend of your mother’s. My daughter-in-law Denise Sarracino and your mother are colleagues at UCLA. You are in my prayers every day and before I go to sleep.

    Love,

  4. Hey Taylor, Some of your old UU friends from Birmingham got together to make cranes for you. We have about 200 colorful birds so far and are trying for a 1000. Each one has a message written on it for you and your family. As soon as we hear where you’ll be next, we will pack them up and send them to you so you can see the love so many feel for you. So glad that you are getting such good care from nurses and doctors and that you have a circle of friends to keep you company. You are perfect as are your wonderful parents and brother.

  5. Taylor,

You are in my heart, on my mind and in my prayers everyday.

    Love always,
    Uncle Erick.

P.S…Taylor Shaw is perfect right now and always.

  6. I heard “Bizarre Love Triangle” the other day and thought of you. It’s so wonderful to hear about your improvements!!

  7. I can just picture the nurses braiding your hair into 2 pony tails. So endearing. You deserve all the love and attention and I look forward to reading about all the progress you’re steadily making. You’re so strong and perfect!

  8. Hi Taylor!

I’m sending my love your way – I visualize all the love being sent to you encircling you and holding you tight. I continue to think of you every day, many times a day. We’re all looking forward to your coming to L.A. – you’ll be surrounded with friends here too! It’s really hot here, so it’ll be quite a change from the snow – it feels just like summer already! It’s beautiful – just like you!!

  9. Dear Taylor, I was one of your babysitters when you were about eight years old and Nathan was, I believe, six. I thought you were a sweetheart and, over the years, I’ve often asked your Uncle Edward and Aunt Cathy how you and your brother are doing. Edward consistently has told me that you remained the sweet girl I knew as you grew up.

Your parents are keeping everyone up-to-date about your recovery and it seems you are coming along nicely. Please know I am one of the many people who are cheering you on. I pray for you every day and I promise to keep doing so.

    All the best,
    Mimi McCaffrey

  10. Good morning Taylor, my name is Cindy. I know you through my son, James. I live in Ohio. And this year we have had what feels like a long winter, not as much as you there in Boston, but definitely our fair share. Last weekend, we had our first glimpse of Spring. And yesterday, the weather changed back to winter again. Winter coats are needed and snow is on the ground again. But that is ok. There is still beauty in winter. Spring will come when it needs to come. And it will be incredible, worth the days it took to get here, especially for those of us who have had a long winter. Know you are loved. Know that you have touched and are in the hearts of so many people. You are a blessing to us all. Taylor, you are perfect, each and every day.
